The East County Courthouse is located on the first five floors of 250 East Main Street in El Cajon. It is open weekdays (non-holidays) from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our Firm regularly represents clients at the El Cajon Courthouse. As such, we know the attorneys, judges and court personnel there who are involved in the criminal justice system.
If you need to find out about posting bail, to visit a loved one, for probation or parole issues, or to obtain information about a pending criminal case, a trip to the El Cajon courthouse may be required. If so, note that in addition to criminal records, the courthouse also houses offices for the probation department, the Sheriff’s office, the District Attorney and others.

Phone Contact at the El Cajon Courthouse
You can also reach the East County Division by telephone, and it may pay to try to avoid making a trip to the courthouse. However, the phone hours are significantly more limited than the business office hours. Telephone hours for information on criminal cases run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. The general number of the courthouse (which is also the number you call for criminal records) is (619) 456-4100.
