We've all seen films and videos of actual or simulated traffic stops relating to driving under the influence (DUI). If you are one of the many drivers who are the subject of one of these stops, it is important to know how to respond to the police when they approach you in your car. Some people believe they should try to talk themselves out of a DUI charge. Terrible idea!
In this video, Founder and CEO David P. Shapiro explains that you will do a lot better protecting your freedom and future by keeping your mouth closed. He suggests that if you are pulled over on a DUI stop, you provide your license, registration, and insurance documents on request - and that is it! The next phase of the stop is what David refers to as the "intoxication Interrogation” questions. You'll likely hear questions such as where were you coming from?; where are you going; have you had anything alcoholic to drink tonight, and if so, how much? Understand that these questions are preliminary steps the cops take to justify getting you out of your vehicle, performing field sobriety tests, and ultimately placing you under arrest on suspicion of DUI. In sum, provide what you have to, but politely refuse to engage in further discussion. The only place that gets you, David tells us, is closer to being arrested. Protect your freedom. Protect your future. Know your rights!
