Larry Millete Murder Trial Finally

Many news watchers, particularly in San Diego, have been following the latest updates on the Larry Millete Murder Case. Larry was arrested and charged with the alleged murder of his wife, Maya, whose body has never been found. Will the District Attorney’s Office be able to prove: (1) Maya was killed; and (2) that Larry did it without a viable legal defense? Time shall tell. With the trial finally getting underway in mid-May, we may know as soon as sometime on or after late June.

As they have often done in the past, local news reporters sought our Firm's attorneys' insights and legal analysis this past month ranging from pretrial motions to jury selection to opening statements through witness testimony. There was talk in late April there could be another continuance on the horizon when Mr. Millete’s lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the San Diego District Attorney’s Office from the case. The Court denied the motion and trial proceeded along as scheduled. Here is what Davd had to say about all this in an April 22nd interview with Dave Summers of NBC7 San Diego.

Welcome Beatrice Daniels!

We were so very pleased to welcome Legal Assistant Beatrice Daniels to the Firm on May 4th!

A San Diego native with a background rooted in science and service, Beatrice joined our team in May, reinforcing our commitment to advocacy, an exceptional work ethic, and a compassionate approach to client care. After several years in medical research and patient-facing healthcare roles, Beatrice developed a deep understanding of what it means to support people through their most vulnerable moments. She now channels that experience into a legal career, dedicated to helping good people regain control of their future when charged with a crime.

Beatrice holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Western Ontario, where she initially pursued a pre-medicine pathway. Before joining the Firm, Beatrice honed her skills in roles that required both precision and empathy, working directly with patients and contributing to medical research. These experiences cultivated her ability to communicate clearly and handle sensitive situations with grace, making her a trusted resource for clients navigating the complexities of the legal system. Fueled by her passion for standing alongside people in times of need, she found her calling in the legal field and plans to attend law school to eventually become an attorney.

Outside of the office, Beatrice enjoys staying active by running and participating in local races. She also enjoys San Diego’s beaches and spending time baking with friends.
