Want to know the best way to implicate yourself in a crime? Post of a video of it on social media!
Another baseball season is underway. Tens of thousands of “the Friar Faithful” are packing Petco Park for every home game. The sun is shining, the beers are flowing, and ideally the home team is scoring more runs than the visitors. But what should be a “family friendly ballpark” often turns into booze-induced showings disguised as attempts at fist fights. Even worse, these altercations are videoed and blasted on social media…sometimes by those involved in the fight. Don’t do that…unless you want to get arrested. And always remember: no matter what you did or did not do, you are under no obligation to speak to law enforcement about why you did what you are accused of doing. Oftentimes there are viable self-defense or defense of others claims at the ballpark melees, but the more you talk, the more likely you will close doors to possible defenses due to your mouth more than your (alleged) actions.
Check out this video our Founder & CEO David P. Shapiro filmed during the 2024 season relating to documenting “fights” at the ballpark.
